Happy Spring

 This spring is bringing a lot of changes. We have been trying to get the work fixed from the water damage to the house so we can finally list the house and get it on the market. This spring also has brought a lot of changes with the kids, and we are seeing so much growth from them growing up in age, height, and maturity. 

Earth Day Art/Writing

For Earth Day Gavyn said he wants to work more on recycling (he loves helping take out the recycling)

For Earth Day Veronika said she wants to plant trees. She loves gardening almost as much as she loves cooking.  

All on her own Willow Mae ran around cleaning up anything she found outside the other day! She wants to help the Earth by picking up garbage and recycling. 

Veronika decided that even though she is the smallest of all the kids, that because she is older than Gavyn and Willow, SHE wanted to rock them at bedtime instead of me. I normally rock all three kids at bedtime where we sing their favorite song and rock together. Veronika insisted that she wanted to instead of me because she is their big sister.  She took it very seriously and rocked them each for about 5 minutes. (we have a playlist on youtube with all our favorite Christian songs that the kids get to pick from every night.) After rocking everyone she also wanted to say lead our bedtime prayers, then sing a little song called Snuggle Puppy that we always have sung the kids, and Close Your Little Eyes My Little Buckaroo too.

Easter was a bit low key (candy wise) as we wanted to focus on the REAL reason for Easter. We sat together and talked about what Easter is about, why we have Easter, read about it, and then asked questions about what they had learned. We wanted to make sure the focus of Easter was not about candy or toys or anything like that, but instead have it be about Jesus. 

We still went ahead and did an Easter egg hunt and then had a basket on the table with a new Children's Bible (they love them so much they wear them out quickly) and a kids Video of Bible stories, along with some orange Fanta. Each Easter egg had a little candy in each, but no big giant Easter Egg baskets filled with presents and tons of candy. 

To help them with the Easter Egg hunt so everyone got the same amount and no one hogged all the eggs we had several different colors of plastic eggs. One color for each child and then I drew a little heart on their hands so they would remember which color eggs they were to look for.
