September Birthdays and Building our Tiny House

September we celebrated three birthdays in our family. Our second oldest celebrated her 31st birthday!!! Sadly they live out of state so we were not able to see her on her birthday but we were able to talk to her and wish her a happy birthday and send her a little something. 31.... WOW that sure makes me feel old!! On the same day Willow celebrated her 10th birthday and five days later Gavyn celebrated his 11th.

Willow is currently into dinosaurs so we took her to a dinosaur museum. She loved it! We let the birthday person pick the meals for the day so we had Taco Bell for lunch and donuts for dinner.

Living in Missouri has been amazing. Gavyn has loved the rolling hills and claims they are like a roller coaster. So for his birthday we all went to Silver Dollar City to ride roller coasters. (he rode a small roller coaster  and decided that the hills we drive over on the road is more fun than a real roller coaster, but loved all the rides in the kids section) We had a great time!

despite the look of sheer terror on her face she claimed she did like the ride and it was fun, but she did not care to ride it a second time

Most of the kids wanted to ride this one, so I rode on it with them. Veronika however did not care to ride so she watched with Mark.

Our tiny house is coming along. We finally have the flooring done and have a sofa set up as well as the start of a kitchen. The best part is our land. Over 50 acres!!
While this might look like mud, it is actually rock that has been ground down in several areas to make small tide pools. The stone is actually a giant sheet of rock.
larger pools in our stream

Since this was taken we have added a few more windows
This was taken before we put the flooring down.
new floor is in
We painted the beams that support the loft. We will be leaving these beams exposed.
we will be putting shiplap on the walls but for now just have wallboards

We still have a ways to go. Next week someone will be out to help remove the rocks and stumps from the acre that was cleared. It was suppose to be done by the first person but they didn't do that. We found someone else who would fix the land the way we wanted to in the first place.
Mark is currently working on  building the stairs and adding a railing to the loft. When that is done we will be able to move our mattress into our bedroom area and move Veronika and Gavyn into their loft. For now, they are in our bedroom space and we are sleeping on our mattress in the living room space. We hope to have the stairs finished, and railing on by Monday. He is also working on making the boards for the shiplap which we will have all downstairs. When that is finished I will be able to decorate to my hearts content!
After the inside projects are done, we will start working on building a deck out front. I am looking forward to being able to sit out on the deck and watch the kids play.
After  the house is finished being worked on, we will start building a shed and a greenhouse along with a chicken coop.
Will post more pictures when we have more done!
Lots of love to you all!!
