June Happenings

 

Veronika started asking about being baptized a couple months ago. We were all baptized last year in August in a river in Missouri, but when we started going to our new church she saw people being baptized in the baptismal tub. She wanted to do it too. I asked the pastor and explained she was baptized just last year but he said when a person wants to be baptized he will never say no because we can not fully understand what is being put in their hearts by God and we would never want to deny that. On June 4th 2023, Veronika was baptized at our church. I love the look on the pastors face as he and one of the church band members (who holds the towels) give each other. If you dont catch what they are saying to each other it is, "that's what it's all about".

A few days later we were at the orthodontist getting ready for an expander and braces. We got the impression made for the expander and go back in a couple weeks to get the expander on, with braces going on in August. 

Later that week, Veronika and Gavyn went off to a weekend overnight church camp with our church! 

I was a nervous wreck worrying about them, if they would be scared or need more help,  but they had a great time!!

Gavyn is so good about going up to support those who are praying. That is him in the black shirt praying for some of the kids who went up to pray.

After you watch the video of the kids at camp, keep it playing and listen to the preacher for a moment... he talks about Gavyn!! This church really embraces our kids and family so much!

We loved visiting the one room school house at Silver Dollar City and listening to the teacher. I was a proud mama when she asked the kids questions like: Why are there only 13 stars on this flag? or Who made the first flag? What is the name of the song that was written when there was a battle and as long as the flag still stood, we were winning? Who wrote that song? They were also able to tell her the name of several states and capitals. 

The teacher told the kids about the star and showed them how it was made for the flag using a piece of paper. Willow was very happy to be able to keep the star.

Next up was watching Nic Wallenda's Zirkus

Not only was Nic Wallenda amazing on the high wire, he was also very inspirational! 

The next day was in the 100s so we decided to have a little road trip To Ha Ha Tonka State Park

There was so much more we wanted to see but with it being in the 100s we decided that it was best to go back in the fall when we can catch all the beautiful colors

Next we went to Rocky Falls

We arrived at the swimming hole around 8pm

And stayed until a little after 9pm.
