One Last Road Trip

We are starting to count down to the last few weeks of being here.  This week we needed to go out while the appraiser was doing her job at the house so we had one last road trip before our big move. We ended up driving to find Panther Creek Falls. 

It was quite the adventure. We started out going down a forestry road and it was going pretty good, then it started turning into an adventure when we noticed many fallen trees that lay partly in the single lane gravel  road we were on. We kept going and finally arrived at a parking area. We did not see a trailhead anywhere so we loaded back up in the car and headed down the road a bit to see if we could find the waterfall. 

We kept going for several miles and felt a bit defeated so we planned on finding the nearest place to turn around. In the area we turned around in, we spotted some snow in the woods so we jumped out and went to play in it for a few minutes. We had a little snowball fight and then headed back to the car with at least the joy of having played in the snow even if we missed the waterfall. 

As we were driving back out, we passed the parking area again and noticed a few cars and people getting out and heading a little bit down the roads and disappearing into the woods. We decided to park up and follow in the direction they were going. We walked down the road a little bit, and discovered a small trail going down towards the water. Mark held onto Ellie and we all started walking down the trail. We encountered logs in the path and ended up having to climb over or under them, but we finally made it! The view was breathtaking!

We will certainly miss our adult children, our dear friends, and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. We  are so thankful to have been able to go on one last road trip in the state before getting ready to move.
